Emin Hitay: “Real support means letting the artist stay in the room”
The young artist support programme that Emin Hitay, founding chairman of the Hitay Foundation, began in 2013 by taking three art students to Art Basel has become an international competition bringing together students from eight countries. We talked with Emin Hitay about how to go beyond giving an artist their first opportunity, the limits of international visibility, and ways of making young people’s artistic practice sustainable in Türkiye.
