• The EU's digital chief Margrethe Vestager said the bloc may soon ask Big Tech to bear some of Europe's telecoms network costs, stating that while the biggest players generate a lot of traffic, they contribute nothing to help support the traffic they generate themselves. What happened: Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, and Netflix account for over half of all global data traffic, according to a recent study released by telecoms lobbying group ETNO.
