• Eutelsat is nearing a deal to acquire OneWeb , the satellite internet company rescued from bankruptcy by Boris Johnson’s government, making the UK government a minority shareholder in the listed French business. Paris-listed Eutelsat has a market value of €2.4 billion and has roughly €3 billion of net debt. In its most recent funding round, OneWeb was valued at $3.4 billion.

• Eutelsat’s current CEO Rodolphe Belmer, who was named chief executive of Atos SE, will be replaced by Danish executive Eva Berneke, the French satellite operator said in a statement. Eutelsat, whose biggest shareholder is the government-owned Bpifrance, rejected a takeover bid from billionaire Patrick Drahi that valued the company at €2.8 billion.
