• BMW is testing a burner that can operate on both gas and hydrogen in its paint shop in Leipzig. The burner is able to switch from hydrogen to gas or vice-versa while in use. The new development in collaboration with combustion technology firm Saacke aims at reducing carbon emissions in the production process, as carmakers are also looking to reduce dependence on Russian gas.
