• Spain’s unemployment slightly increased for a third consecutive month in September but remained at its lowest level for the month since 2008, labor ministry figures showed on Tuesday. The unemployment rate ticked 0.6% higher from the previous month and fell by 9.70% compared to a year prior.

• Spain’s inflation slowed in September due to lower electricity and fuel costs, the country’s statistics office reported on Thursday. Consumer Price Index fell to an annual 9.0% from the previous month’s reading of 10.5%, the lowest since May. The so-called core inflation —which excludes volatile fuel and food prices— declined to 6.2% from August’s 6.4%.

• Spanish GDP grew faster in Q2 than originally estimated, as quarterly growth in the period was upgraded to 1.5% from an original 1.1% while the year-on-year growth figure was revised to 6.8% from 6.3%, data from the National Statistics Institute showed on Friday.
