  • A step back: Earlier this month, Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk said they needed to cut staff by about 10%, to which he later added that the cuts would apply only to salaried workers. A laid-off person told Reuters employees at the satellite office had previously been told that they would move to an office in Palo Alto after the San Mateo lease expired.
  • Meanwhile: South Korean battery maker LG Energy Solution, a major supplier to US carmakers including Tesla, is reassessing a $1.3 billion investment plan for an Arizona factory unveiled only three months ago, citing "unprecedented" economic conditions.
