• Zara owner Inditex reported a 24% increase in net profit to €3.1 billion for the first nine months of its fiscal year, as price rises helped offset weakening global demand for clothing. Sales for the world’s biggest fashion retailer rose 19% from a year ago, exceeding expectations. • Zara founder Amancio Ortega bought five logistics centers in the US from Realty Income for $722 million through his family investment company Pontegadea. In addition to earlier logistics purchases from the same company, which totaled $183 million, the move marks Pontegadea’s turn towards industrial properties from its previous focus, apartments and office towers.

• Pontegadea, Zara founder Amancio Ortega’s personal investment firm , is looking to diversify one of the world’s biggest fortunes away from retail fashion as shares of Zara parent Inditex lost almost a third of their value in the past five years. Fueled by proceeds from his fashion empire, the billionaire’s family office has invested more than $1 billion in energy ventures and almost $2 billion in real estate.
