• The EU Parliament failed to agree on a sweeping carbon market reform after the Greens and Socialists considered the changes as weakening the reform too much, while the conservatives deemed them too ambitious. The Emissions Trading System reform, aimed at aligning cap-and-trade with cutting emissions by 55% by 2030, will be sent back to the environment committee for further debate.
