• Mining giant Rio Tinto is buying out Turquoise Hill Resources with a deal valued at about $3.3 billion, at about $32 a share. Rio already owned 51% of the Montreal-based company, and the new deal will give it more control over a copper mine in Mongolia named Oyu Tolgoi, which is expected to be the world’s fourth largest copper mine once an underground expansion is completed. via Bloomberg
