• Russian forces continue to use improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to inflict casualties, lower morale, and restrict Ukrainian freedom of movement, according to UK military intelligence. "Russian forces also continue to attack infrastructure targets with a high risk of collateral harm to civilians," the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
• Russian armed forces are seeking to strengthen troop numbers as losses mount with personnel discharged from military service since 2012, as well as trying to recruit from the unrecognized Transnistria region of Moldova, according to UK military intelligence.
• Kyiv agreed to the use of nine humanitarian corridors to help people to escape heavy fighting in the east of the country, Ukraine's Deputy PM Iryna Vereshchuk said.
• 5,600 cases of alleged war crimes including Friday's missile attack on the train station in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, alongside 500 suspects were identified, the Ukrainian prosecutor general said.
• There are now 4.5 million Ukrainian refugees, with roughly 2.6 million having fled to Poland and over 686,000 to Romania, The UN refugee agency said. The UNHCR notes that due to the Schengen visa-free rules of the EU, "a large number of people" have likely moved on to other countries.
• A grave with dozens of Ukrainian civilians is reported to be found in the village of Buzova, close to Kyiv. The death toll was yet to be confirmed.
• Ukraine’s prosecutor general Iryna Venediktova said “we have actually now, only for this morning, 1,222 dead people in the Kyiv region alone.” She did not specify whether the number referred only to civilians, or whether it included killed Ukrainian fighters too.
• Russian forces hit Ukraine’s Luhansk and Dnipro regions, Ukrainian officials said, completely destroying an airport and potentially leaving casualties. “The airport itself was destroyed, as well as nearby infrastructure,” Valentyn Reznichenko, governor of the central Dnipropetrovsk region, said.
