• The mornings start in the new generation coffee shops around Firuzağa Mosque. But the real neighbourhood residents sit at the tables of the Firuzağa Mosque and order Turkish coffee and/or soda.
• Mini pizzas, fringy canapes, and mille-feuille from Tarihî Savoy Pastanesi,
• 24/7 nights, colours, human voices. The night doesn't end here (hopefully not at Taksim Training and Research Hospital either).
• The garden of the former German Hospital, now Kent University. Just pick up a book and spend the day.
• Galaktion. Every afternoon I can sit there and eat Georgian food.
• Purchases made from La Cave and Antre Gourmet. Because sometimes you just have to indulge yourself and your friends.
• Walking along Meşelik Street, looking at the Aya Triada Greek Orthodox Church,
• Going into Selvi Restaurant and having a chat with the shopkeepers. One day while having soup here, I heard the news of Kurt Cobain's death from the shopkeepers. They heard it from the musicians coming out of Kemancı at night. At our tables, we all looked at each other and were silent for a long time. Maybe this was the first legendary death news our generation received.

• When I want to be tranquil, on the terrace of the TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineers on İpek Street,
