• Sony lowered its profit forecast by 16% from $2.3 billion in May to $1.9 billion as the company’s PS5 gaming sales dropped from 63.6 million titles in the same quarter last year to just 47.1 million while its PS5 console sales stagnated with the gaming console still in short supply. At the end of its fiscal year in May, Sony was predicting sales of 18 million PlayStation 5s for 2022 after selling 11.5 million in 2021.
