Here we are with the 2022's first Zappa Times newsletter. We speak in the plural because of our multiplication. From now on, we will prepare Zappa Times together with&nbsp;<a fr-original-style="" href="http://sociology.boun.edu.tr/people.php?id=14" style="color: rgb(9, 9, 9); text-decoration: none; background-color: transparent; outline: none; cursor: pointer; transition: color 0.3s ease 0s; touch-action: manipulation; user-select: auto; box-sizing: border-box;" target="_blank">Biray Kolluoğlu</a>&nbsp;from Boğaziçi University Sociology Department. At the same time,&nbsp;Özge Açıkkol&nbsp;will continue to support us with her photographs as she did last year. Özge is helping us create the aesthetic language of our newsletter by sharing her photographs with us and giving us advice, especially on the cover/introduction images.&nbsp;Burak Şuşut, Zeynep Uysal, and&nbsp;Murat Gülsoy&nbsp;also read our articles and contribute to our newsletters reaching you more properly with their criticisms and suggestions.&nbsp;İlkim Emirler&nbsp;from Aposto also does the page layout and proofreading of our articles. We would like to thank them very much. As is customary: We are, of course, responsible for all remaining errors and omissions.Another innovation, more formal: we will try to reach our followers alternately in two different formats. As in this issue, we will have articles organized and developed around specific issues, as well as newsletters that we put together in a more eclectic style. We hope we will have the chance to raise more issues and discuss them with you in this flexible and dynamic format.As for our agenda, not much has changed; at Zappa Times, we will continue to look more carefully at the lives through podcasts and books to catch the details we miss in the hustle and bustle of the day. We will share with you what we find important about the state of the world from the articles, reports, and news we read, what they make us think, and our notes. Our paths will often cross in many different intellectual fields, particularly sociology, economy, politics, culture, gastronomy, agriculture, and the environment. Our main concern will be to go beyond the current political agenda, which suffers from historical and global myopia and to point out the relationship between the individual and the social. In this way, we hope to contribute to the enrichment of the intellectual and social life of our followers in the direction of understanding that we are not alone, touching the differences and increasing social solidarity.
