• Italian retail sales fell by 0.2% month-on-month in December, figures from ISTAT revealed on Wednesday, following a 0.8% increase in the previous month and compared with market forecasts of a 0.8% fall. • Italy’s trade balance rose to a surplus of €1.45 billion in November 2022 from a deficit of €2.12 billion in the previous month, data from ISTAT showed Wednesday. Exports in November grew 18% year-on-year, while imports rose 20.4%.
