Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was attacked with stones by a group during his rally in Erzurum. In the attack, many citizens in the rally area were injured by the stones that hit them. İmamoğlu stated that the Mayor of Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality and the Governor of Erzurum were responsible for not taking the necessary precautions regarding this attack. İmamoğlu calmed the crowd in a way that would not increase the tension and left the scene after a while after making sure the health of the citizens participating in the rally.Various statements were made by the government on the subject. Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen defended himself by saying that the requested venue was not a meeting place. Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu stated that 16 people were detained in connection with the attack, and one of them was affiliated with FETÖ. Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ also announced that there were detentions in the attack in Erzurum. However, 15 people who were detained were soon released. Soylu called İmamoğlu a provocateur and accused him by stating that "the reason he held this rally here is to cause this fight. Ekrem İmamoğlu is one of the biggest frauds ever." It is not impossible to understand that Soylu, who is responsible for ensuring the security of the country and the election environment, adopts such a hostile attitude towards this attack targeting the physical integrity of politicians.A few days later, during the Sakarya rally, a stone attack against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's convoy took place. A 15-year-old boy was detained in connection with this incident. What made you move to this city?Most people are shocked to hear this, but I didn’t particularly like London before I moved here. It wasn’t my dream city, job opportunities brought me here. Flash forward to today - it’s been almost 6 years and I love every second of it. It started to feel like a second hometown in recent years. It grows on you with time.What characterizes London, what makes it unique?Being the most diverse and international city in the world. I’m still shocked by how many people with different nationalities and ethnic backgrounds live in this city side by side. And obviously the hustle and bustle, never ending energy of the city &amp; its people.London is described as a cosmopolitan city, do you see indicators of that on a daily basis?I see that every day and I love it. I am fan of small talk. I randomly chat with people in coffee shops, Uber drivers etc. I have met so many random people from countries that I wouldn’t even have thought of. It feels energizing to meet so many new cultures and connect with people from different backgrounds. I also love to try out diverse food and restaurants. You can try authentic food from so many cuisines here at a street food market or in a fancy restaurant. I recently found out that you can try more than 60 different cuisines in London - that’s quite a high number, right?As a metropole, do you think it is habitable?As with every large city, London also feels a bit toxic time to time, especially when you’re stuck in the 9-5 routine. The morning rush hour, packed tube stations, people running around. Heavy gentrification is happening in most central neighbourhoods around Zone 1-3, and I am not a fan of construction sites, similar cafes popping out everywhere, as these are constant reminders of a tiring metropole. However, that doesn’t sum up London. London also has so many pockets where you feel like you’ve just transported to the countryside or some quaint little town in a few seconds. You can take a left from a busy street and enter the most peaceful hood or go to a park where you can feel like you’re taking a stroll in the countryside.&nbsp;What do you complain about the most?The weather of course! London is rather 'seasonless' compared to what I’m used to from Istanbul. After a while, you just lose the perception of seasons as it mostly blends into one.
