• Hungary announced on Wednesday that it was expanding price caps on five food staples to include eggs and potatoes after data showed annual inflation reached 21.1% in October. • The EU aims to stipulate that Hungary must strengthen the independence of the country’s judges as a condition for obtaining €5.8 billion in grants from pandemic recovery funds.
