• NASA’s DART spacecraft successfully collided with a distant asteroid, Dimorphos. The Double Asteroid Redirection Test aimed to see whether it is possible to obstruct an asteroid’s movement while it is approaching the Earth for a potential crash. The results were positive, in that the DART impact vehicle succeeded to intercept the target asteroid, which is the size of an American football stadium.
