via The Guardian • Oil major Shell defended its decision to buy 100,000 metric tons of crude oil from Russia, citing the need to secure uninterrupted energy supplies. The purchase, which did not violate any sanctions, was made at $28.50 a barrel below the price of international benchmark Brent crude, the widest discount on record.
