• Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is replacing its president before the end of the year and pledging to invest in research and development, co-founder and chair Lei Jun wrote in a letter to employees on Thursday. Wang Xiang will step down as president on Dec. 30, leaving his seat to Lu Weibing, who joined Xiaomi in 2019 to lead the Redmi sub-brand.
